Doggy Philosophy

Dogs have been at our sides for thousands of years. In fact, they may have been domesticated as far back as 32,000 years ago. We’ve gotten to know our canine pals pretty well in that time, and have come to really appreciate Fido’s outlook on life. As it turns out, we could all learn some things from Man’s Best Friend. A Lexington, KY vet lists some rules of doggy philosophy below.

Be Loyal

Our furry pals’ loyalty is truly astonishing. Dogs have even risked their lives for their humans! Be loyal to those who have been good to you, and stand by them.

Live For Today

Your pooch isn’t too worried about what tomorrow’s news headlines will bring. He’s too busy playing and living his best life. It’s hard not to be uneasy these days, but take it from Fido: self-care is important, too. Try to bring joy into each day.

Offer Support To Those Who Need It

To say that this has been a tough year would be a massive understatement. One of the best things about our canine companions is the fact that they somehow sense when their humans are feeling sad or stressed. Fido may stick closer than usual, or put his paw on your leg as a show of support.

Stop And Smell The Roses

Fido certainly has this one down to a science. In fact, your pet will probably not only want to smell the roses, he’ll also want to sniff at the clover, bushes, trees, grass, and, well, pretty much everything else. Remember to step back and appreciate the beautiful things around you.

Have Fun

Dogs are never more adorable than when they’re feeling frisky and playful. The joyful doggy exuberance Fido exhibits when bounding after a toy is a great inspiration. Make time for things you enjoy!

Eat Well

Your pup may actually take this one a bit too seriously. Fido will eat just about anything within paws’ reach! Focus on eating delicious, nourishing food. Make sure your pet is getting great nutrition as well!

Spend Time With Your Loved Ones

If Fido had a choice, he’d likely spend all day, every day, just hanging out with you. Your faithful pet really wants nothing more than to be at your side 24/7!
